In South Africa, improving household financial stability was reinforced by a more favourable interest rate outlook and a renewed focus on long-term savings. For Old Mutual Unit Trusts and the Wealth business, this environment created valuable opportunities to help investors build resilience, diversify portfolios, and remain committed to achieving their long-term financial goals.   

Among the year’s highlights, South Africa recently hosted the G20 Summit, where President Cyril Ramaphosa welcomed world leaders to engage on critical issues like debt sustainability, funding for renewable energy, and the sustainable and locally beneficial development of mineral resources. The Summit marked a significant moment for global cooperation and provided South Africa with a valuable platform to contribute to key conversations that will influence the world economy in the years ahead. This landmark event underscores the country’s pivotal role in shaping global economic trends and strengthening international partnerships.
